Dr. Mark McRae
Dr. Mark McRae is a plastic surgeon that is board certified in both Canada and the United States. He is Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at McMaster University, and his clinical practice is based out of St Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
His practice is dedicated to restorative and aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body. He leads the breast reconstruction program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare. He is a rhinoplasty specialist and has special focus involving surgeries of the orbit and eyelid.
He holds leadership positions within plastic surgery. Among these he is the program lead at McMaster for competency based medical education for the Division of Plastic Surgery, Clinical Teaching Unit Director for plastic surgery at St. Joseph’s Hamilton, Vice President of the Ontario Association of Craniofacial Trauma Surgeons, and Vice Chair of the Ontario Medical Association Section on Plastic Surgery.
Background
Dr. McRae trained with some of the leading plastic surgeons in the world, with credentials from institutions including Cornell University, Yale University, New York University and the University of Toronto.
Prior to medicine, he was nominated as a Rhodes Scholarship finalist, and was a professional hockey player drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL.
Dr. McRae’s surgical approach focuses on safety to achieve results that are natural and beautiful. It is his goal to always provide excellent care.
